The program is devoted to conduct scientific research and experiments in accordance with the contract signed May 15, 2009 between the Federal Space Agency and Space Adventures. The contract covered sending to the ISS Guy Laliberte as a Visiting Expedition-17 participant (October 2009, ISS-20/21) to conduct a program of experiment activities.
During the Guy Laliberte mission onboard the Russian Orbital Segment of the ISS it was planned to conduct only one experiment (CG). The biotechnology experiment CG foresees crystallization a number of samples onboard the Russian Segment without any involvement of the US Segment.
The mission of Guy Laliberte also covers public information, symbolic activities and photo/video shooting of the Earth surface and ISS interior (project Poetic Social Mission-PSM).
Equipment used within the PSM project was that both delivered specifically for that project and that available onboard the Russian Segment.
